 ezekiel prince was born january 3, 1986. past that, there's not much he knows about where he came from or how he ended up in foster care. he spent most of his childhood bouncing around from home to home in washington dc, resulting in plenty of less than pleasant experiences. at the age of 12, he was adopted by a lobbyist and his picture-perfect family. they were nice, gave him all the material possessions he'd previously only dreamed of having, but ezekiel always felt like they only saw him as a pity case.
in school he was social, astute, and practically his teachers' pet. in his mind, he did the best he possibly could academically and in sports as an effort to impress an invisible audience. he only imagined how proud he would be making his parents, if he actually had them. as soon as he graduated from high school, he was gone with the wind. he didn't exactly have a plan, but he had a goal, and that was to do whatever it took to get ahead. his adoptive parents offered to pay for college but he turned their help down. in his eyes he was 18, a man who had to figure things out for himself. he took up two jobs, saved his money, applied for loans, and worked himself through community college and then the university of baltimore.
then there was the bomb that went off during his junior year. his girlfriend of over a year was pregnant and definitely keeping the child. third job, here we come! it wasn't easy to make things work and he pretty much starved throughout the remainder of his college years, but he was happy knowing that he was working toward something bigger than himself. that was, until his girlfriend fessed up and told him there was a really good chance the child wasn't his. for months, ezekiel stuck by her side, for it to only be confirmed after the child was born that it wasn't his. to say he was left devastated by it would be a gross understatement.
after getting his bachelor's degree, he got a job at a marketing company and is settling into his own place in baltimore. so, why the real world, why now? well, the decision to audition was part-dare, part-spur of the moment idea. one of his buddies who's constantly trying to get on reality tv was planning on auditioning, and eazy did it mostly just to mock him. beyond that, hey, the kid finally graduated from college last year! pat on the back, vacation, retreat? definitely necessary. to him, it's all about the experience, trying something new. besides, after sharing a tight two bedroom apartment with five guys in college, he's convinced he can survive pretty much anything.
